From May 1 to May 12, 2026, the "Honor Labor · Global Joy Shopping & the 4th National Products Pavilion Expo" successfully took place within the Qingyuan Gate in the Ancient City of Datong. Centered around the theme "Honor Labor · Global Joy Shopping," this year's expo gathered 132 unique merchants from 28 countries and featured 118 specialty retail booths. The event was divided into two exhibition zones, Pavilion A and Pavilion B, with Pavilion B serving as a newly added area. Spanning a total exhibition area of over 2,000 square meters, the expo delivered an unprecedented global shopping extravaganza for both local residents and tourists.

Originally scheduled from May 1 to May 4, the event was extended through May 12 at 8:30 PM due to the continuous, massive popularity of the "International Bazaar" and sales that far exceeded expectations. This extension, made in response to strong requests from the public and exhibitors alike, turned the expo into a post-May Day holiday cultural and tourism highlight that kept consumer enthusiasm burning.

Leveraging the existing infrastructure of the Tuoba City project, the venue boasted a well-planned layout and comprehensive support services. Throughout the expo, daily foot traffic remained consistently high, with cumulative sales revenue surpassing 3 million RMB over the 12-day period. Furthermore, during the event, a total of 27 new  agreements were signed for the upcoming long-term National Products Pavilions and the indoor Feast of All Nations at Tuoba City, fully demonstrating the high recognition of global merchants toward the platform value of Tuoba City. Notably, this edition introduced several brand-new national theme pavilions—including Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Moldova, Malawi, and Mongolia—further expanding the international trade matrix and vividly recreating the flourishing commerce of the ancient Silk Road.

The success of this event not only provided Datong residents and tourists with a colorful, internationalized consumer experience that fulfilled diverse market demands, but also drove a clear economic boost for neighboring catering, hospitality, and transportation sectors. On May 13, international merchants packed up and departed, marking the official and successful conclusion of the event. Looking ahead, Tuoba City will continue to uphold the principles of openness, cooperation, and win-win partnership. The complex remains dedicated to building a premier brand for global merchant expos and strictly controlling the quality of imported products. This commitment ensures a sustainable, top-tier collaborative platform and operational support for the upcoming permanent National Products Pavilions and the Feast of All Nations at Tuoba City, driving the high-quality development of Datong’s cultural and tourism industry.
