On March 4, Pakistani entrepreneurs Ms. MARYUM SAJID and Mr. AHMED HAMZA visited the Tuoba City project located inside Qingyuan Gate of Datong Ancient City to conduct an on-site inspection and sign the contract for business entry. The agreement marks another step forward in Tuoba City’s international investment promotion, bringing a vibrant South Asian cultural and food presence to the soon-to-open Tuoba International Bazaar and dining district.

Ms. MARYUM SAJID is the founder of the Pakistani restaurant brand Masala Master, which has gained popularity among diners for its authentic Pakistani cuisine. Mr. AHMED HAMZA is engaged in the international trade of brass handicrafts, with products that combine traditional craftsmanship and modern design and are sold in global markets.

During the afternoon visit, the two merchants were accompanied by the Director of International Business Development of Tuoba City. They received a detailed briefing on the project’s master plan through the architectural model presentation, followed by an on-site tour of the second level of the ancient city wall, where they inspected the layout of outdoor retail spaces and restaurant locations. They also watched the project’s promotional video and design presentation.

After in-depth discussions, the two sides formally signed the contract around 3:00 p.m. Ms. MARYUM SAJID plans to open a Pakistani specialty restaurant on the second floor, while Mr. AHMED HAMZA intends to operate the Pakistan National Products Pavilion to showcase and sell brass handicrafts.

“Tuoba City not only recreates the vibrant atmosphere of the ancient Silk Road marketplace, but also attracts us with its open vision and practical policies,” said Mr. MARYUM SAJID. “We hope to bring authentic Pakistani food and culture to Datong so that visitors can experience exotic flavors in this thousand-year-old city.”

Mr. AHMED HAMZA also expressed confidence in the project’s future. “The platform and strong visitor flow here will open up broader opportunities for our handicrafts in the Chinese market,” he said.

Director of International Business Development of Tuoba City noted that the project welcomes more international merchants like Ms. MARYUM SAJID and Mr. AHMED HAMZA to join. “Together we can write a new Silk Road chapter for Datong,” he said. “Tuoba City will continue improving its services, providing convenient policies such as turnkey business entry and unified settlement systems for merchants from around the world, fostering a space where diverse cultures can meet and thrive.”
