Recently, the December 2025 edition of the 5A Scenic Spot Brand Communication Power (MBI) Top 100 list was released, with the Yungang Grottoes ranking second, following only the Palace Museum, demonstrating the core appeal of this World Heritage Site.
The December 2025 5A Scenic Spot Brand Communication Power Top 100 list data is sourced from the Maidot Brand Index MBI, compiled from 358 scenic spot data points from December. The ranking analyzes brand communication power across the internet and mobile internet from four dimensions: Search Index, Review Index, Operational Index, and Media Index. In December 2025, mainstream media continued to focus on various cultural activities at the Yungang Grottoes. The scenic spot also employed multiple approaches to communicate the value of Yungang cultural heritage, resulting in the Yungang Grottoes ranking second in the Media Index for that month.
In 2025, the Yungang Grottoes exceeded 5.28 million annual visitors, reaching a record high. The scenic spot also successfully made the "2026 Asia 100 Must-Visit Attractions List" thanks to its outstanding cultural appeal and visitor experience. Through multi-dimensional initiatives including service optimization, innovative cultural expression, and strengthened cultural relic protection, the Yungang Research Institute has achieved a new cultural tourism dynamic of "slow seasons not slowing down, peak seasons remaining orderly."
